About 2 Sports Moms
Who We Are
2 Sports Moms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting opportunities to student-athletes and resources to families. We provide youth sports support, academic planning guidance, and NIL education to help families navigate the evolving landscape of competitive athletics.
Rooted in lived experience and community leadership, our work ensures that student-athletes succeed academically, athletically, and holistically.
Why We Exist
Families often face complex decisions as their children pursue athletics. From academic balance and time management to recruitment pathways and NIL awareness, the journey can feel overwhelming.
Too many student-athletes lack access to structured academic planning, trusted mentorship, and reliable information.
2 Sports Moms bridges that gap by:
Connecting families to student-athlete resources
Providing parent support for youth sports decisions
Offering academic and athletic strategy guidance
Building community partnerships nationwide
2 Sports Moms was founded by mothers who have successfully guided their own children through the youth sports journey and are now in a unique position to pay it forward. With the right tools, resources, and advocates in their corner, families can help their athletes succeed in school, thrive in sports, and develop into confident young leaders. We believe that every child is worthy of access to opportunity, and every parent is worthy of a support system that makes the journey a little easier.
Informed and empowered families raise young athletes who rise higher.

Our Mission
To empower and equip student-athletes and their families with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to succeed academically, athletically, and holistically.

Our Approach
We take a whole-family, whole-child approach to serving student-athletes. Our programs are built on years of research proving that positive parent engagement is the foundation of all success, on and off the field.
Our partnerships with experienced coaches, educators, and community leaders allow us to offer wraparound support that:
• Builds academic confidence
• Strengthens athletic performance
• Promotes mental wellness and resilience
• Opens doors to opportunities that lead to long-term success

Who We Serve
Student-Athletes ages 8–21 and their families, particularly in communities that have faced historic inequities in both academics and athletics. We see their brilliance, support their goals, and help them take steps that lead to college, scholarships, and lifelong success.

Our Vision

To be the trusted source for parents and the heart of a movement that goes beyond sideline support, providing the tools families need to help every student-athlete dream bigger, work smarter, and unlock their full potential.

Yasmin
Lived insight from the sidelines, strategic leadership for families navigating the sports journey.
Yasmin Hurston Cornelius is a creative and experienced executive leader, longtime Team Mom, and proud mother of two adult sons whose athletic journeys inspired the creation of 2 Sports Moms. With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in community affairs, public service, and government relations, Yasmin brings both professional expertise and lived experience to supporting student-athletes and the families who love them.
She most recently served as Senior Vice President of Community Affairs at L+M Development Partners and C+C Apartment Management, where she led strategic community outreach, communications, and resident engagement for large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments across New York City.
Yasmin’s career spans government, nonprofit leadership, and real estate development. She has held influential roles at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the New York State Senate, and the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, strengthening partnerships, advancing community-centered initiatives, and ensuring neighborhood voices shaped policy and decision-making.
A respected civic leader, Yasmin has served in multiple elected and leadership roles. She was elected to School Board District 3, where she advocated for educational equity and stronger parent engagement, and elected as a State Committeewoman in Central Harlem, deepening grassroots civic participation and community representation. She also served as President of the NAACP Mid-Manhattan Branch and as an elected member of the NAACP National Board, championing youth empowerment, civil rights, and community self-determination.
At the heart of Yasmin’s work is lived experience. As a hands-on Team Mom, she has navigated the full sports journey with her family; small schools and zero-star recruiting, transfers and the transfer portal, NIL decisions, big stages and high expectations, injuries and recovery, relationships and growing pains, combines, Pro Day, the NFL Draft, preseason camps, and beyond. These experiences taught her that talent alone is not enough; families need preparation, advocacy, trusted information, and emotional support at every stage.
Her oldest son is launching a career in real estate and property management while also pursuing his passion as an artist and music producer. Her youngest is an Offensive Lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, now in his professional NFL career. Yasmin raised her sons with the same invested, intentional approach she brings to leadership: honing skills such as clear communication, consistency, relationship-building, and the ability to rally people around a shared vision.
Through 2 Sports Moms, Yasmin is committed to uplifting families, expanding opportunity, and ensuring parents have a seat at the table and a trusted support system throughout the youth, collegiate, and professional sports journey. Because parenting an athlete is a team sport, and no family should have to do it alone.

Sabratha
